The numbers behind both services
The host count row is the one everybody reads first, and it is the one that misleads most. Both numbers below are accurate. The section after this one explains why they are not comparable.

What the TorBox host list actually contains
TorBox publishes per-host limits inside the account, and almost nobody quotes them. We read the full list on 9 September 2026. Three things stand out.
Roughly half the catalogue is not file hosting. YouTube, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, BBC, GitHub, Steam and dozens more sit in the list at 100 links and 10 TB each. They inflate the total, and yt-dlp handles them for free. Strip them out and about seventy genuine file hosts remain.
Thirteen were offline, and had been for a while rather than for an afternoon, including three of the most requested: Rapidgator, Nitroflare, DDownload, ClicknUpload, Filepress, Terabox, PikPak, MegaDB, RapidRAR, Pan Baidu, 123Pan, Annas Archive, Bilibili. Host status does move, so treat this as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent verdict.
Thirteen more are throttled hard. These limits are per host and reset every 24 hours, so a plan that guarantees 10 TB a month can still stop you at five links on the one host you actually use.
| Host | Links / 24 h | Bandwidth | Per link |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Fichier | 50 links | 10 TB | 200 GB |
| Hexload | 25 links | 2 TB | 100 GB |
| Hitfile | 10 links | 1 TB | 100 GB |
| Terabytez | 10 links | 1 TB | 100 GB |
| Turbobit | 5 links | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| Katfile | 5 links | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| 4Shared | 5 links | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| Alfafile | 5 links | 500 GB | 100 GB |
| Wupfile | 5 links | 10 GB | 100 GB |
Fourteen hosts are permanently unsupported and will not be added: Keep2Share, FileJoker, UploadGig, TakeFile, FilesMonster, OBOOM, DevUploads, MoonDL, Hotlink, Daofile, Novafile, TwoJPlik, FastFile and Elitefile. Real-Debrid publishes no equivalent per-host counter across its 36 hosts, and that is the practical difference between the two catalogues.
Is TorBox slower? Not in the way people mean
This comes up more than any other question about the pair, and raw throughput turns out to be the wrong thing to look at. Cache depth is what differs. Real-Debrid holds the largest cached-torrent pool of any service in our index, built over years of users feeding it. When a torrent is already cached, it starts instantly: no download, no wait.
The TorBox cache is younger and still filling out. Ask it for something obscure and you are more likely to be the person who triggers the first download rather than the one who benefits from it. That wait is what gets reported as slowness. On popular content the difference largely disappears. Line speed itself is tiered: 250 Mbps on the free plan, 1 Gbps from $3, and 80 Gbps on Pro.
What each service gives up
Where TorBox is ahead
- A no-logs policy and multi-IP use, so one account is not chained to one location
- No content filter, so nothing silently breaks a cached item
- A real free tier, plus permitted account sharing
- Entry price of $3/mo, with 10 TB a month guaranteed at that tier
- Usenet and NNTP on every plan, unmetered on Pro
- Permanent storage from 300 GB, up to 1 TB on Pro
Where Real-Debrid is ahead
- 36 hosts with no per-host link counter, against a list that thins out under load
- The deepest cached-torrent pool anywhere in our index
- No 100 GB ceiling on a single host transfer
- The broadest app and add-on compatibility, since most integrations targeted it first
Which one fits how you download
Your links come from premium file hosts
Real-Debrid. No per-host daily counter, and none of its 36 hosts were down at our audit.
You only ever use torrents or Usenet
TorBox. Cheaper, more permissive, no filter, and a free tier to test it first.
Privacy is the priority
TorBox. No-logs and multi-IP against the Real-Debrid single-IP enforcement.
You want obscure content to just play
Real-Debrid. The cache advantage is real and it is the reason to tolerate the rest.
You move very large files
Real-Debrid. TorBox caps every host transfer at 100 GB, whatever you pay.
You want both hosts and a permissive policy
Neither, quite. That combination is what put World-Debrid at the top of our index.
FAQ
Common questions about Real-Debrid and TorBox
Which is better, Real-Debrid or TorBox?
TorBox scores higher in our 2026 index, 9.2 against 8.6, on privacy, policy and price. They are not quite the same product though. Real-Debrid unlocks 36 file hosts and holds the deepest torrent cache anywhere. TorBox lists roughly 70 file hosts, but a third of them are either offline or throttled to a handful of links a day, and about half of its wider catalogue is public sites you do not need a debrid service for. Torrents and Usenet are where TorBox is strongest.
Does TorBox support file hosts like Rapidgator or 1fichier?
Partly, and the detail matters. TorBox does unlock file hosts, so the common claim that it is torrents-only is wrong. But at our 9 September 2026 audit Rapidgator was offline, as it had been for a while, along with Nitroflare, DDownload and ten others. 1fichier worked and is one of the most generous entries at 50 links and 10 TB per 24 hours. Keep2Share, UploadGig, FileJoker and eleven more are permanently unsupported. Real-Debrid covers 36 hosts without per-host link counters, so if your links live on premium hosts it remains the safer bet.
Is TorBox slower than Real-Debrid?
It depends on what you mean by slow. Raw transfer speed is comparable, and the $3 tier runs at 1 Gbps against 80 Gbps on Pro. What differs is cache depth: Real-Debrid has the largest cached-torrent pool of any service we rank, so a given torrent is more often already sitting there and starts instantly. The TorBox cache is still growing, so you are more likely to wait for a first download to complete. That wait is what most people describe as slowness.
Does TorBox have a daily download cap?
No daily cap on your account. TorBox publishes guaranteed monthly floors instead: 5 TB on Free, 10 TB on Essential, 20 TB on Standard and 30 TB on Pro, with a dynamic threshold above those computed from the 99th percentile of users on your own tier. Go past it and you get a warning with three days to come back down, three warnings before a ban, and each warning rotates your API key. Individual hosts do carry their own 24-hour link counters, which is a separate limit and the one more likely to bite you.
Which one is better for privacy?
TorBox, clearly. It runs a no-logs policy and allows multi-IP use, so one account is not pinned to one location. Real-Debrid enforces a strict single-IP policy and, since 2026, applies a keyword content filter that breaks some cached streams. TorBox applies no such filter.
Can I try TorBox for free?
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to settle this for your own links. TorBox runs a free tier and permits account sharing, though web downloads from file hosts are reserved for paid plans, so the free tier will not tell you whether your hosts work. Real-Debrid has no free tier or trial at all.
Where to look next
Neither of these two tops our index. Here is how the rest of the field lines up.
